Family time is the best time....

This week was very enjoyable for me because Marcos and I got to spend quality time with both of our families... My big brother Billy from Arizona (Whoa that makes him sound like a hillbilly beast)was in town with his girlfriend, and for those of you who know me--you know there's nothing better to me than spending time with all three of my brothers at one time! (Except for spending time with my wonderful husband of course;) I didn't want to jump on the bandwagon of posting pictures of us at the pumpkin patch BUT since I have married Marcos, Fall has become just about my favorite season (he sure rubs off on me!) So I have been lovin' the harvest festivities.

My mom says I'm getting to be an old lady because all of the sudden I'm lighting "Mom's Apple Pie" candles in our apartment, baking pumpkin pies, and on the weekends I look forward to cuddling up to my hubby on the couch and watching movies all day.... Ahhh what is happening to me? Just kidding. I absolutely love being married, what can I say? I married Marcos Clark... what a once in a lifetime opportunity;) Here are some pics of family time this past week...

Of course I saved the best picture for last.... Our nephew Broc was the cutest lil' monkey!

It's worth a shot....

Fan of the Man or not... this was a good quote so I thought I would share:

" I have missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I have lost almost 300 games. On 26 occasions I have been entrusted to take the game's winning shot--and missed. And I have failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed".

Big Smiles, Bigger Hearts.

M547 = Matthew 5:4-7

"And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that?"

Last weekend the M547 team at SEVEN High Desert had an abundance of joyful participants... The extra help came as a blessing and answered prayer. SEVEN's small groups are now getting a chance to serve together and greet their SEVEN family every couple of months. As an M547 leader, I wanted to thank everyone for their efforts and smiling faces...also a special thanks to Pastor Paul for his dedication and love for Seven HD!

Prayers...

Most of you have heard all about the fires... if not, there are fires all over parts of Southern California right now. I've gotten messages all day from friends who are stuck down the hill, friends and family who may have to evacuate their homes, and even friends fighting the fires. Please pray for their safety. Bless you all.

Have you had your dose of jack today?

No, not jack daniels, come on. I'm a promoter of good health here people...I mean, jack johnson. The man is great. Good for the soul. Something about his voice is very soothing. And his lyrics are so chill. Simple words with relevance. I love it. He puts me in a good mood, even when --uhhhh-- i'm not in a good mood. Yeah. Sometimes we don't really catch the lyrics unless we read them. Here are some of his lyrics that have stuck with me....

"Inaudible Melodies"
Slow down everyone -You're moving too fast -Frames can't catch you when You're moving like that...

"It's All Understood"
But I read somewhere -That you've got to beware -You can't believe anything you read -But the good Book is good -And that's well understood -So don't even question -If you know what I mean...

"Gone"
And cars and phones and diamond rings, Bling, bling, -because those are only removable things-And what about your mind? Does it shine? Are there things that concern you more than your time?...

"Better Together"
Love is the answer-At least for most of the questions in my heart -Like why are we here? And where do we go? -And how come it's so hard? It's not always easy and -Sometimes life can be deceiving -I'll tell you one thing it's always better when we're together

"Dreams Be Dreams"
And all this livings so much harder than it seems -But girl don't let your dreams be dreams -You know this livings not so hard as it seems -Don't let your dreams dreams...

"Upside Down"
I want to turn the whole thing upside down -I'll find the things they say just can't be found -I'll share this love I find with everyone -We'll sing and dance to Mother Nature's songs -This world keeps spinning and there's no time to waste...

"Broken"
With everything in the past -Fading faster and faster until it was gone -Found out I was losing so much more than I knew all along -Because everything I've been working for -Was only worth nickels and dimes -But if I had a minute for every hour that I've wasted -I'd be rich in time, I'd be doing fine -Without you I was broken -But I'd rather be broke down with you by my side...

"With My Own Two Hands"(feat. Ben Harper)
I can change the world -With my own two hands -Make it a better place -With my own two hands -Make it a kinder place -With my own two hands...

Inspire.

Everyday, I dream. How can I make a difference? I was given an assignment last week to write a paper on the subject. I had no invention. I had no money. I had no media spotlight. There are times when I really wonder. Dream. Absorb. Digest. Reflect. Decide. My thoughts race, but I soon reach my conclusion. I will attempt to make a difference in whatever situation or life-stage I am in, even if it is doing something small. So simple. I want to remind people of the "little things" in life. But I fear this thought may be on its way to cliché-ness if I can say that.

English Professors instruct us to stay away from clichés, but I think clichés have become clichés because they are used without thought. Say that ten times fast-- We don't process the words. We don't apply them. We say it then forget it. I've decided not to forget this one. We all know how Dr. Marin Luther King Jr. started his journey in making a difference; He had a dream. And he acted on it. Somewhere inside we have this little light. Sometimes it is difficult to ignite. I have found that my light does not just shine on its own. It requires a few things. I need struggles to make me strong, relationships to make me feel loved, the word of God to give me wisdom, and finally, the world around me so that I can use my experience to help others. We have a purpose in life. Without purpose, what are we living for?

Whether the whole world knows me or a small town, I will let my light shine. I will encourage someone when they want to give up. Someone needs to be told that they're worth it. I will be a friend. I will live the life I was created to live. I will do what I can with what I have. Care for others. Learn. When life doesn't make sense, we are able to figure something out. When we cry, we are able to laugh again. When we say goodbye, we are able to say hello to someone else. When we fail, we are able to endure and triumph. Life would be dull and meaningless if we did not go through struggles and changes. John Mayer reminds us "Life may not always go the way it should, but I know the heart of life is good." Use your experience to make a difference in someone's life. Show them it is good. Put on a smile and appreciate the little things. God certainly slows us down with a bad situation, but he never fails to show us the beauty of a new day.

"Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance." – James 1:2-3

The second best day of my life....

On August 3rd, 2007, Marcos and I tied the knot. Indeed, it was the second best day of my life, right behind the day I became a Christian. Our wedding was perfect, but went by too fast! I'm glad we had Travis Hoehne on hand to capture our special day....He was great. I'm thankful for our parents and the rest of our loved one's for making it so special. And I thank God for blessing me with such a wonderful Man.

A little about me...

Well I just figured out how to use a "blogspot"...Kind of. I've decided I need another way of networking besides just the world of MySpace =) I figured my first blog would tell a little about me--so, here I go....
I'm a 23 year old student at Cal-State San Bernardino majoring in communications and possibly minoring in graphic design--We will see! I got married on August 3rd to my best friend, Marcos Clark. He is a 3rd grade teacher, and I am extremely proud of his accomplishments. I love to write, take pictures, volunteer at my church, go to musicals, watch movies, spend time with friends and family.... I hope God's love will forever shine bright through my life. That's about it for now.... Have a good day.
